Traveling to pIT

where to stay

We have reserved a block of rooms at the TRYP by Wyndham Pittsburgh/Lawrenceville Boutique Hotel. We will be providing transportation between the wedding venue and this hotel.

We encourage you to book early to secure our special rate within the room block. If you prefer alternative accommodations, there are several nearby options available.

Airbnb

Fun fact: We stayed in long-term Airbnbs for the first seven months we lived in Pittsburgh. That’s how we figured out exactly where we wanted to buy our first home 💛

We made an Airbnb wishlist with some suggested stays, but let us know if you need help finding something else!

Pittsburgh Neighborhoods

  • Lawrenceville

This neighborhood is at the top of our recommendations list (where the hotel block and many of our Airbnb recs are located). It is extremely walkable with some of Pittsburgh’s best shops, restaurants, and attractions. We lived here from 2021 until 2025.

  • North Shore/North Side

This part of town boasts both the Pirates baseball field and Steelers football stadium. There are plenty of hotel, restaurant, and bar options on the North Shore, while the North Side is made up of beautiful historic housing and smaller, local haunts. Just make sure to check the game schedule if you plan on staying here!

  • Fox Chapel/Sharpsburg/Aspinwall

If you’d prefer to stay closer to the venue out in the bordering suburbs, these are the places you’ll want to look for an Airbnb!

  • Shadyside

While this neighborhood is mostly residential, Shadyside’s main street (Walnut) has great shopping, restaurants, and bars. It’s extremely safe, central to Pittsburgh, and easy to get around.
