When Z met lee

In short, we met at work.
I had been working at ConsumerAffairs since my summer internship in 2015. Zakk started in the sales department in September 2016.
At a coworker’s birthday party in March of 2017, we sat across from one another at dinner, and by the end of the night, Zakk asked me on our first date.
We went to Mi Cocina for Mexican food and Mambo Taxis, had a beer or two at Roosevelts down Cherry Street, and ended the night at a dive bar in Brookside - our own little tour of Tulsa.
Detroit, Michigan
Zakk got an offer from StockX to join their affiliate marketing team - a lifelong sneakerhead’s dream job.
It turned out that their product management team was also hiring, and within about two weeks of Zakk’s offer, I got one, too.
Coworkers again!
We packed up Blaze & Baker and moved to the oldest neighborhood in Motor City - Corktown - in November 2018.
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
During the pandemic, StockX started offering remote options to employees, and Pittsburgh (located pretty close to my hometown of Buffalo and Zakk’s of Indiana, PA) felt like a great spot to settle in for a while.
We’ve been here since October 2020 and are absolutely obsessed with the city!
We got lucky in finding a ton of fast friends here 🤍
The Caves, Jamaica
THE PROPOSAL! Zakk completely got me by surprise.
After a super busy year of home renovation projects, friends’ weddings, and other travel, I booked a trip to a resort we’d found on Instagram during the pandemic and had on our list ever since.
I thought I had the whole trip planned out - little did I know Zakk spent some time in the weeks prior working with my mom and friends to design a ring.
At our private dinner in the oceanside caves beneath the resort, a photographer came by to take some “complementary photos” and the waiter brought down our coconut shrimp - except there was no shrimp on the plate, just a ring box!
The Laundromats
Yes, we know we’ve been engaged a bit longer than most, but we’ve been BUSY!
In November 2023, we bought our first laundromat in Indiana, PA - about an hour from Pittsburgh. Thirteenth Street Laundromat has since been a huge learning experience. We’re very eager to keep building up our collection of small businesses together!
